Acknowledgment of the Original People of the Land

The Verdancy Project recognizes and acknowledges that we are located on the traditional village sites of the Multnomah, Kathlamet, Clackamas, Tualatin, Kalapuya, Molalla, bands of the Chinook,  and Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde. 

We are on this land because of the forced removal of its traditional peoples by colonists and settlers. As settlers and/or guests, we recognize the strong and diverse Native communities in our region today, from Tribes both local and distant. We would like to thank the original caretakers and offer respect and gratitude for their stewardship of these lands.

We recognize that we are benefiting from this beautiful land and that we have a responsibility to steward and honor it.
